Leslie is a Peruvian Bachelor in International Business and Administration and a first year student in the Inclusive Design Mdes program at OCAD U. Her experience is in logistics and international trade.
She also co-founded a sustainable fashion startup in Peru that empowered local artisans to produce high quality handmade knitwear pieces with organic fibers. She believes fashion shouldn’t exclude people in any way.
Since she moved to Toronto, she became interested in re-design for justice and equity design to address exclusion and inequities in different communities. Her research aims to put people and racial/ethnic equity first, and build upon existing resources within organizations to create change.
In Lab 2, Leslie contributed in different stages of the process: from research to team coordination, team presentations, journey mapping and feedback, and the co-creation of the co-design plan and workshop. She also supported the co-design workshop, and collaborated with data analysis from the interviews and co-design sessions.
